About DessaGuide

An independent guide to Dessa Voice AI, and a place to play short voice challenges.

Why this site exists

Voice is becoming a serious way to talk to AI, and Block’s Dessa research is one of the more interesting signs of that. When people search for Dessa, they usually want a few plain answers: what it is, where the official recordings are, and whether they can use it yet. We collect those answers in one place, with sources and dates, and update them when something actually changes.

What we’re building

Our own product is a voice game, starting with The Dragon’s Day Off: a short conversation with an AI character who has a personality and a goal of its own. You get two minutes to change its mind. This first character is a dragon on holiday who doesn’t want to toast your bread. We want challenges that are quick, a little funny, and decided by what you actually say.

The game currently runs on the OpenAI Realtime API. It does not use Dessa. If Dessa becomes available to developers, we may evaluate it and will publish what we find on our updates page.

Our relationship with Block

None. DessaGuide is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Block, Inc. or the Dessa team. For official information, go to Block’s Dessa page.

Who runs it

DessaGuide is an independent project that publishes under its own name.
