How we decide what to publish about Dessa and other voice AI, and how we fix mistakes.

Last updated

Official sources first

Facts about Dessa (what it is, how it was trained, who can access it, what has been released) come fromBlock’s Dessa page and other channels Block controls. Facts about other products come from those companies’ own pages. We link the source next to the claim.

Three kinds of statements, kept apart

  • What the official source says. We attribute it (“Block says…”), because a company’s description of its own model is a claim, not an independent test.
  • What we observed ourselves. For example, listening suggestions for a recording or how our own game works. We say when something is our view.
  • What is unconfirmed. If something hasn’t been announced, we say “not announced” rather than guess. We don’t publish rumored release dates, prices, or download links.

Dates mean real checks

“Checked” dates show when we last compared a page against its source. We change that date only after an actual check, never automatically. Update entries carry the date the change happened or was confirmed.

Corrections

When new information appears, we update the affected pages and, if the change matters to readers, add a dated entry to ourupdates page. If we got something wrong, we fix it and note the correction there.

Spotted an error? Use the contact page (choose “Content correction”) or emailhello@dessaguide.com. Please include the page and, if you can, a source.

Independence and commercial relationships

DessaGuide is not affiliated with Block. Our own voice game appears on some pages and is always labelled as ours. We currently have no paid placements, sponsorships, or affiliate links. If that changes, we’ll disclose it on the page where it applies.

Media

We link to official recordings instead of re-uploading them. We don’t present audio from other models as Dessa. Our illustrations are original.
